Training of thunderstorms with intense rainfall rates produced a swath of 3-8 inches of rain across San Antonio. Several vehicles were swept off the Loop 410 access road into Beitel Creek. There were 11 fatalities in this creek and the surrounding area. Ten people were rescued from the water, and two others were able to get to safety on their own. Damage from the flooding totaled $23 million across Bexar County.
Thunderstorms produced heavy rain that led to flash flooding. The bodies of two homeless individuals were recovered from Salado Creek near Maltsberger Ln. in northern San Antonio. Law enforcement officials believe they were swept away from a homeless encampment in a drainage channel near the creek.
Training of thunderstorms with intense rainfall rates produced a swath of 3-8 inches of rain across San Antonio. A non-vehicle related fatality was reported near Wurzbach Pkwy and Salado Creek. The body was discovered on June 14th. The exact location of where this person went into the water is not known.
