The same thunderstorm complex that produced a tornado in Madison county continued to move northeast and produced downburst winds over parts of Henderson county. One person was killed and several buildings were destroyed south of Blue Goose. Nine houses, 26 mobile homes and 22 other structures were destroyed. Another 134 houses, 61 mobile homes and 52 farm structures were damaged.
Straight-line winds knocked down trees from Highway 22 North to Corinth Road in the northeast part of Henderson County. Trees fell on Stanfill Road, Alberton Road near the Mazies Chapel Road intersection. A local CO-OP has their sign damaged and a greenhouse shifted three feet. A local trucking company had several empty trailers rolled. An outbuilding was also damaged and a tree fell on an unoccupied mobile home.
Straight line winds of 70 to 80 mph caused widespread damage across Southern Henderson County. Areas of enhanced damage was caused by thunderstorm winds estimated up to 110 mph. About 250 homes were damaged and several of them were destroyed. Numerous other structures were damaged. Numerous trees and power lines were knocked down. Three injuries were reported including one person that broke his hip.
