Big Sioux river below Watertown peaked at major flood stage with a crest of 12.12 feet. This mainly impacted agricultural lands, though the water was high enough to reach the bridge at 177th Street on the south end of Watertown.
Snowmelt flooding on the Big Sioux River occurred from near Watertown to the southern part of the county. The river went above flood stage on March 20th and continued above flood stage into April at the gage below Watertown. The river rose from 1 to 1 1/2 feet above flood stage. Agricultural land along with few roads were flooded.
The South Branch Tributary of Mud Creek near Rauville went into flood during the morning hours of August 6th. A peak crest of 4.91 feet was recorded at 1045 am CST on August 6th, with the creek falling below flood stage on the afternoon of August 7th.
