The Codington County Emergency Manager called in to report at least 40 large pines had been uprooted or knocked over along the south side of Lake Kampeska. One of these trees fell on a substation and power was knocked out to portions of Watertown for a few hours.
Eleven power poles were broken or tipped over along a 2/3 mile stretch of Highway 212. All of the poles were in a swampy area or in water. The damage was just south of a recreation area that also saw a few trees uprooted and a camper tipped over.
Straight line winds lofted a storage shed and tossed it to the north northwest. The shed hit and damaged the corner of the barn to the north and then fell to the ground. All the items in the storage shed were still in their place, including an RV, car, 4 wheeler and other small items.
