High winds blew down trees and branches into at least five buildings. Mostly minor damage was reported except a garage sustained severe damage. Extensive crop damage from hail was reported in central Bon-Homme County just north of Tyndall.
Large hail caused widespread crop damage, mainly to soybean and corn crops. The amount of crop damage could not be assessed until the coming harvest. Recovery prospects for soybeans was expected to be better than for corn, since the hail came at a critical time in corn plant development.
Large hail covered the ground. The hail caused crop damage, but the amount of damage was not known. According to the county extension officer, many of the crops were expected to recover, and later reports indicated that recovery was occurring, with yield loss expected to be between 10 and 25 percent.
