Thunderstorm winds estimated near 60 mph knocked down several large tree branches at the Derry Township Community Park in south Burnham along Derry Park Road and Logan Boulevard. A 16-year-old female was killed when a falling tree branch struck her in the head.
Thunderstorm winds estimated near 80 mph uplifted a large (26×40) garage roof and carried it approximately 200 feet from the original structure. The damage occurred in the area of 169 Queen Street in Reedsville (Brown Township). Additional debris was lifted nearly 75 feet over surrounding obstructions. Several homes in the immediate area were affected by downed wires. The damage was confined to the garage roof with only minor residual damage noted. No injuries were reported.
A severe thunderstorm producing winds estimated near 60 mph knocked down approximately 15 large trees across railroad tracks to the east of Lewistown, causing the delay of an Amtrak passenger train for an hour while the trees were removed.
