Multiple homes were flooded in the area of Springfield Road and Florence Avenue in Darby and Collingdale. There was a water rescue of one person from their vehicle in Lansdowne. Multiple roads closed in Ridley and Darby.
Run-off from the heavier rain earlier in the day in Chester County caused flooding along the main stem of the Brandywine Creek during the afternoon of the 27th. The main stem of the Brandywine Creek at Chadds Ford was above its 9 foot flood stage from 1155 a.m. EDT through 524 p.m. EDT on the 27th. It crested at 9.66 feet at 3 p.m. EDT.
The runoff from the heavy rain on the 23rd caused minor flooding on the Crum Creek and Main Stem of the Brandywine Creek on the 24th. The main stem of the Brandywine Creek at Chadds Ford was above its 9 foot flood stage from 342 a.m. EDT through 516 p.m. EDT on the 24th. It crested at 10.91 feet at 1045 a.m. EDT. The Crum Creek near Newtown Square was above its 6 foot flood stage from 104 a.m. EDT through 202 a.m. EDT on the 24th. It crested at 6.23 feet at 129 a.m. EDT. Event precipitation totals included 2.35 inches at the Philadelphia International Airport and 1.63 inches in Drexel Hill.
