A spotter reported hail up to 1 3/4 inch in Redmond along with heavy rain. 1/2 inch hail was reported in Bend. A local newspaper reported 2 inch hail in Terrebonne with damage to roofs, patio furniture, trees, windows, cars, satellite dishes, solar panels, corn and hay fields. The hail piled up more than four inches deep in places. Damage claims are estimated to be near two million dollars.
Via a public report, 1.5 inch hailstones fell 6 miles SE of Sisters at 1857 PDT, with the public report explaining damage had occurred to a vehicle. Via a public report from social media, hail stones up to 1 inch in size fell 5 miles ESE of Sisters at 1900 PDT.
Hail from .5 to 1.25 inches was reported between Lava Lake and Ferndale. Wind gusts to 60 mph blew down numerous trees between Madras and Hermiston. Two-thirds of an inch of rain was reported in Heppner in 20 minutes. Power outage in Echo when lightning started a fire on transformer and power pole. Power outage also occured in Pendleton.
