A microburst was confirmed by an NWS storm survey. The microburst was about one quarter mile long and 100 yards wide near Newcomerstown. A sheet metal warehouse was nearly completely destroyed near highway 218 off of Stonecreek Road with debris carried over a quarter mile. There was also roof, siding and outbuilding damage to several homes along Stonecreek Road. Several trees and wires were also down.
A microburst occurred over the town, downing numerous trees and power lines. Several buildings also were damaged. One house suffered extensive damage when a large tree fell onto the roof. Another house received minor damage when a tree fell onto it. One business in town had the roof blown off and one brick wall collapsed.
NWS Pittsburgh conducted a damage survey in central Tuscarawas county and noted a swath of damage, with wind gusts reaching/exceeding 100mph, from a derecho. The survey team also used Sentinel (satellite aerial images) to note swaths of trees down in areas were roads were unavailable. The worst damage was in the vicinity Buehler Hill Road and Schupps Hill Road.
