During the early morning hours of May 22nd, heavy rain producing thunderstorms moved across Medina County for the the third time in less than 24 hours. Rainfall totals of one to two inches were common across the county and rainfall rates with the stronger storms exceeded an inch per hour. This rain combined with ground already saturated from earlier storms led to the renewal of widespread flooding in the county. Dozens of roads and streets once again became flooded and had to be closed. Several more cars became stranded in the flood waters. Damage to roads and other government property from the storms on the 21st and 22nd was nearly $500,000. Dozens of homes, businesses and vehicles sustained flood damage.
Thunderstorms dumped locally heavy rains on Medina County on June 21st and 22nd. Runoff from this rain caused streams and rivers in the county to leave their banks during the evening hours of the 22nd. Widespread lowland flooding occurred in the county. Around 10 roads had to be closed in the western portion of the county because of flooding. Two day rainfall totals from June 21st and 22nd included: 4.06 inches at Medina; 3.81 inches at the Wadsworth Airport; 3.81 inches in Seville; 3.78 inches in Spencer; 3.41 inches in Wadsworth and 3.22 inches in Granger Township. Dozens of homes in the county sustained damage, mainly from basement flooding. Crop losses in the county are expected to be significant as many fields in the county were under standing water for several days.
A line of severe thunderstorms moved across Medina County and dumped an inch or more of rain on already saturated ground. For the second time in twelve hours, flash flooding occurred in the county as streams and rivers quickly rose. This time, the central and southern portions of the county were hardest hit. Dozens of roads were flooded and had to be closed. Several vehicles were stranded in the flood waters and hundreds of homes sustained damage from lowland or basement flooding.
