Many roads were flooded and closed. Damage occurred to some of those roads. Gravel roads became mud paths when the gravel was washed away. Culverts were unearthed and roads washed out. There were several water rescues from vehicles. The hardest hit area was around Centerville and Rio Grande. Basements were flooded in Gallipolis, with damage to furnaces.
Another round of thunderstorms fell over saturated soils. Near Patriot, another 2 inches of rain was measured. According to the Ohio Emergency Management Agency, 4 homes had minor damage. There was damage to county roads, culverts, and bridges.
A rain gauge near Vinton measured 2.8 inches of rain in less than 90 minutes. The Emergency Management Agency reported several roads inundated by high water. Water was 1 to 2 feet deep on Route 160. Water was up and around several mobile homes.
