Barns were damaged extensively. An agricultural hopper was moved approximately 1000 feet. Large trees and limbs were snapped in several locations. Corn fields were flattened. Vegetation was removed from a 30 foot area in a farm field. These occurrences were due to damaging thunderstorm winds. The wind speed was estimated by the damage assessment.
Thunderstorm wind damage occurred along a swath that included properties along Highway 36, southwest of Greenville. This damage included power poles and two trees being blown down as well as roof damage to residences and a barn destroyed.
Several trees were downed in the Greenville area. Trees and powerlines were downed from southwest to eastern portions of the county. In Gettysburg, two barns were damaged. Straight-line winds were estimated to be around 80 mph.
