Roof damage occurred to several buildings including McNear Hardware on First Street. Trees were downed in several locations. Wayne County Creston,02,1530EST- *,,1540EST,,,0,0,3,0,Thunderstorm Winds At least one car was damaged by fallen trees.
A swath of wind damage was noted by an NWS storm survey, extending from near Scout Road to School House Road. Most damage consisted of broken and uprooted trees, but on Scout Road, one outbuilding was destroyed and another lost some roofing material.
Thunderstorm winds downed numerous trees across the county. Emergency management officials reported several roads across the county were closed by downed trees and power lines. Sporadic power outages from the storm continued well into the evening hours across the county. A spotter at Powhatan Point estimated wind gusts to around 60 knots.
