Grand Forks Airport observers and local residents viewed a persistent funnel as it moved eastward toward Grand Forks. The funnel lasted for around 10 minutes and dissipated about 5 miles west of Grand Forks. Several other brief funnels were reported between Hoople and Thief River Falls to the north, Dahlen to the west, and Grandin to the south of Grand Forks.
Two funnels were viewed over Agnes Township, between McCanna and Inkster, between 1230 and 1240 pm CDT. Multiple reports came from observers near Larimore and the Kolding Dam Recreation Area. Photos were also posted on social media.
Observers at the Grand Forks International Airport reported a wall cloud south of the airport complex moving north. Subsequent reports indicated a tornado passing near the airport from 2147Z to 2151Z. Peak winds at the airport reached 48 knots as the tornado passed west of the airport.
