Multiple roads were reported washout across central Sampson County, including near Highway 24 and Summerhill Road, Curtis Ivey Road and Summerhill Road, Six Runs Church Road and Old Warsaw Road, and the 5000 block of Dave Bright Road.
Torrential rainfall of 15 to 20 inches caused widespread flash flooding across the county. The heavy rains caused flash flooding on several creeks. At least 81 roads were covered by high water in the county, with several road wash outs. Numerous homes and businesses were flooded as well. Sampson county emergency officials report that they were conducting multiple water rescues for swift water and that resources were becoming overwhelmed.
Torrential rainfall of 10 to 14 inches caused widespread flash flooding across the county. The heavy rains caused flash flooding on several creeks. Numerous roads were closed due to flooding. Numerous homes and businesses were flooded as well, with numerous water rescues from people trapped in homes and vehicles. A 30 year old Garland man died when his vehicle hydroplaned and struck a tree near N.C. 411.
