Wind damaged 48 structures and seven autos. Most of the damage was in the town of Pinebluff and the Pinehurst area. Damage also reported in River Bend. Trees fell on houses, mobile homes were blown on their sides, and a chicken house was destroyed.
A couple of trees were blown down just east of Southern Pines. One tree fell on a power line and caught fire at 161 Lakeview Drive and the other fell on a power line near the intersection of East Connecticut Avenue and East Massachusetts Avenue.
Numerous trees were blown down along a swath from near Robbins to near Carthage. Near Eagle Springs, one tree fell on top of four cars, with one of the cars being totaled (value of the car is unknown). In addition, a trained spotter estimated a wind gust of 60 mph in Seven Lakes.
