Strong thunderstorms winds resulted in a swath of damage 1 to 3 miles north of Himrod. A roof was blown off in one piece from a farmhouse, the metal chute on the side of a silo had minor damage, numerous trees were knocked down and a set of power poles were broken.
Thunderstorms developed in a moist flow ahead of a cold front. The thunderstorm winds downed trees and power lines. Hail up to 1.00 inch in diameter was reported with the storms. Some structural damage was reported from fallen trees and limbs.
