A line of severe thunderstorms moved across central and eastern New York well ahead of a cold front over the Ohio Valley. Hardest hit by the thunderstorms was Onieda County where numerous trees and power lines were knocked down. In the Town of Western the roof of a barn was removed by thunderstorm winds. In Cortland County, a mobile home was damaged near Homer when a tree fell on it; and a man was struck by lightning in McGraw when he found shelter from the storms under a tree.
