The same storm that produced wind damage earlier in the afternoon in northern Broome county re-intensified to severe levels across the northern tier of Delaware county. The storm first affected the Sidney area, downing many large trees and wires. As the storm moved eastward, it continued to knock down trees in the towns of South Kortright, Franklin, and Hobart. Large trees were blown across several streets in Stamford. Shortly thereafter, the storm exited the county.
Intense straight line microburst wind damage was observed on Stockport Road just south of the village of Hancock in Delaware county. Strong straight line winds associated with a thunderstorm rapidly descended the western aspect of a hill leading down to the south branch of the Delaware River. At this location, multiple uprooted or snapped trees were found lying in a west to north fanning orientation. As a result of all trees laying in a similar path, and no evidence of a cyclonic circulation extending to the ground, the damage is consistent with straight line wind damage of roughly 80 mph.
The persistent bow echo moved into northern Delaware county and caused a bit more in the way of wind damage before finally weakening. Numerous large trees and wires were blown down across roadways both in Meredith and Davenport.
