An isolated thunderstorm produced damaging winds that downed a 75 foot pine tree. The tree fell onto a house resulting in structural damage to the roof and second story. An outdoor gazebo was also flattened by the tree.
Thunderstorms produced high winds and torrential rains during the afternoon and evening hours. The strong thunderstorm winds downed trees and power lines. Scattered power outages were reported. The torrential rains caused some poor drainage flooding. In Olean, underpasses were flooded with waist-deep water.
Severe thunderstorms moved across portions of western and central New York. The thunderstorm winds downed trees and power lines. Power outages were scattered across the entire area. In Lewiston, the thunderstorm winds moved a mobile home a foot and a half off its foundation. In Niagara Falls, an elderly woman was standing near a window when lightning struck her and knocked her to the floor. She suffered a broken hip.
