What the reports say
Written by National Weather Service staff at the time of the event · public domain
A squall line developed during the mid afternoon hours in a very warm and unstable airmass. Hundreds of trees and power lines were downed as the thunderstorms generated damaging straight line winds. Intense up and down drafts within one storm were sufficient to produce one inch hail.
