The heavy rain led to the closure of three roads in Jackson Township. Precipitation event totals included 3.66 inches in Little Egg Harbor, 2.88 inches in Brick, 2.69 inches in Harvey Cedars and 1.96 inches in Toms River.
In addition to the severe weather, the heavy rain that also fell from the thunderstorms caused poor drainage flooding in eastern Ocean County on the afternoon of the 18th. On Long Beach Island in Ship Bottom, Central Avenue was closed near its intersection with New Jersey State Route 72. One vehicle became stuck in a flooded jughandle off of New Jersey State Route 37 in Toms River. A Skywarn Spotter from Bayville had a storm total of 3.00 inches during that afternoon.
Heavy rain caused poor drainage flooding in Ocean County, especially near and along the coast. This compounded the coastal flooding. On the mainland of Ocean County, poor drainage flooding caused westbound lane closures on New Jersey State Route 72 in both Barnegat and Stafford Townships. Event precipitation totals included 3.12 inches in Point Pleasant, 3.06 inches in Lavallette, 3.03 inches in Lacey Township, 2.90 inches in Brick Township, 2.20 inches in Stafford Township and 2.17 inches in Manahawkin.
