A severe thunderstorm knocked down numerous trees in Freehold Borough. All roadway entrances into the borough were blocked. Several cars were crushed and a couple of homes were destroyed by fallen trees. Free ice and water were distributed in four separate places as 4,600 residents still were without power on the evening of the 29th.
A severe thunderstorm also knocked down numerous trees and wires in Freehold Borough. A downed tree crushed a Mercedes at the intersection of South Street and New Jersey State Route 33B. Two occupants managed to get out of the vehicle, but were hospitalized. Downed trees damaged three homes within the borough. Downed wires caused a basement fire to one home. One firefighter was hospitalized battling the blaze.
A squall line of severe thunderstorms caused wind damage across eastern Monmouth County. The worst reported damage was in Eatontown where a large uprooted tree crushed a trailer near the bed. A woman had to be rescued from the trailer. A tree ripped a hole in the roof of the trailer next door. The same storm ripped siding from some other homes in the area. Downed trees and closed roadways were reported in Farmingdale, Wall and Neptune. Power outages because of downed wires occurred in Bradley Beach, Eatontown, Farmingdale, Howell and Neptune. Wind gusts of 61 mph and 60 mph were measured in Sandy Hook and Tinton Falls respectively.
