Numerous reports of large hail were reported from trained spotter, the public, and law enforcement in the Bellevue area. Many of the reports were along 36th street to the north and south of Highway 370. The majority of the hail reports were 1 to 1.50 inches in diameter, but hail as large as 1.75 inches was also reported.
Hail up to 2 inches in diameter fell across parts of the Bellevue area. In some areas the hail covered the ground white and briefly created locally hazardous driving conditions. Some of the larger hail stones were reported along Galvin Rd near Highway 370 and Harvel Street. The hail was accompanied by thunderstorm winds that were measured at 59 mph at Offutt and were estimated to have reached nearly 70 mph near Highway 370 and Galvin.
Hail up to golf ball-size fell in the Bellevue area from at least the 3rd storm that produced severe-size hail in Sarpy county this evening. The hail was reported to cause some damage to vehicles near 205th and Industrial Road.
