Lodgepole Creek overflowed its banks roughly 3.3 miles west of town and flowed east between U.S. Highway 385 and the railroad tracks. The railroad and highway narrowed near the COOP in Lodgepole causing waters to build up pressure and then reode the railroad bed causing flooding in the south part of town by 11 pm. During the worst of the flooding water was five feet deep in places. Other areas in town saw two to three feet of water cover an area three blocks wide and five blocks long.
Three to five inches of rain in two hours produced flash flooding along Lodgepole Creek and US Highway 30 from east of Potter through Brownson to just west of Sidney. Extensive lowland flooding was reported north and south of Interstate 80.
Intersection of County Roads 113 and 14 flooded and closed. Lodgepole Creek along Highway 30 between mile markers 83 and 87 flooded. County Road 8 flooded. Most County roads south of Sidney were flooded and closed. Lodgepole Creek out of its banks at Lodgepole.
