Brief landspout ground circulation occurred 11 NNE Potter per multiple videos from the public. No damage occurred or was reported with the landspout as it remained in an open area away from infrastructure. No injuries, no fatalities, and no damage.
Severe thunderstorms moved southeast through Cheyenne County during the afternoon. Hail from the thunderstorms destroyed or damaged 55,615 acres of cropland, causing millions of dollars in losses. The worst damage was in the northwest part of the county as well as just southeast of Sidney. One area of hail began nine miles west of Dalton and cut a two mile wide path for eight to ten miles. Also, A brief tornado was observed near the state line, 10 miles south of Sunol.
