Straight line wind damage was reported, with significant roof damage to a home. The winds were estimated up to 80 mph. A garage was also destroyed. A couple of grain silo's were flattened and blown across open fields. A tractor trailer and several cars were blown off the road.
A weakened brick building was destroyed by strong winds preceding the tornado that formed just east of Higbee. The damage was extensive, but considering the dilapidated nature of the building and the unidirectional nature of the damage, strong thunderstorm winds of around 70 to 80 mph were deemed to be the cause of the damage.
Reports of tree limbs down on power lines, power outages and road signs blown down around Moberly. It was localized to an area along US-24 from Hunstville to the area of Holeman Rd and US-24 in Moberly including the area north of Rothewell Park.
