A slow moving elevated severe thunderstorm produced hail from the size of quarters up to tennis balls, 3 inches, in size as it moved across the city of Iberia. Significant damage to roofs, vehicles, and other structures occurred. This swath of hail was nearly 3 miles in length with hail falling for as much as 25 minutes across portions of the city.
Photos from social media showed several hail stones between half dollar and golf ball size hail. A large volume of hail was reported within the storm, with Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers requesting MODOT assistance clearing the roadway on Highway 54. Several vehicles had damaged windshields.
