Several homes and business sustained flood damage across the county. Several roads and bridges were severely damaged or washed away across the county. This report will contain the total dollar estimate for flood damage to infrastructure, businesses, and homes across Barton County.
One to three inches of rain fell over Barton County. Any areas that typically flood during periods of excessive rainfall were flooded. The North Fork of the Spring River flooded a section of Highway 126 for nearly two weeks after this episode of excessive rainfall.
Three to five inches of rain fell over Barton County that resulted in widespread flooding of small streams, creeks, and rivers. A few specific locations that flooded included a section of Highway C near Milford, numerous secondary roads near Liberal, a section of Highway A one mile east of Milford, a section of Highway K one mile west of Hannon, a section of Highway M just south of its intersection with Highway 126, and a section of Highway V near its intersection with Highway K.
