Several rounds of thunderstorms produced 7 to 12 inches of rain across the southern portion of Yazoo county. This rainfall resulted in a very large number of roads being covered with water, as well as large amounts of farmland.
A slow moving cluster of thunderstorms dumped 4 to 7 inches of rain across portions of Yazoo County. In the city, 6.59 inches of rain was measured. Numerous roads and streets were flooded. Several dozen vehicles were flooded along with 30 homes and businesses.
Heavy rain between six and ten inches fell across all of Yazoo County during the late afternoon and evening hours of October 16th. This heavy rain caused many roads and farm fields to become flooded by several feet of water. Numerous mud slides occurred along the bluffs and some roads had sections washed out or large amounts of mud coving them. High water marks were noted by debris across the landscape. A few homes were also flooded in the county.
