Several rounds of thunderstorms and continued heavy rain dumped 7 to 12 inches of rain over the northern portion of Newton county. This extremely heavy rain flooded and washed out numerous roads. Numerous homes and businesses were also flooded.
Heavy rainfall, between 3 and 5 inches, fell across a good portion of Newton County. Several roads, in the central portion of the county, had sections under water. These included McNeil, Ridge, Garrison and Poplar Roads.
