An intense and long lived supercell thunderstorm tracked across all of northern Lincoln County and produced a swath of golf ball to baseball sized hail. Communities from Caseyville to Loyd Star were impacted by this storm. The storm dissipated just as it was exiting far northeast Lincoln County.
The large supercell storm continued out of East-Central Franklin county and moved NNE across all of Central Lincoln county before moving into NW Lawrence county. This storm produced penny to golf ball sized hail all along its path.
A thunderstorm tracked across the northern part of the county and produced a swath of large hail. The storm initially produced quarter to golfball size hail in Caseyville. Golfball sized hail also fell near Lloyd Star at the attendance center on Highway 550. The largest hail that fell was lime size, near the Hillcrest Church of Christ north of Brookhaven on Highway 51.
