Another portion of Lincoln County was hit by intense straight line winds along a squall line which ranged from 80 to 95 mph. Numerous trees and power lines were blown down along a swath starting a few miles south of the I-55 and Highway 84 intersection and continued generally east to the Harmony and East Lincoln Communities. Several trees were down on homes and a few chicken houses were damaged.
An intense downburst occurred across southern Lincoln county, early Tuesday morning, which brought winds near 95 mph to areas from Bogue Chitto to Ruth. These destructive winds uprooted and downed several hundred trees and took down many power lines. Many of these trees fell across roads and onto homes. A few dozen roads were blocked for most of the day including a portion of US Highway 51 in Bogue Chitto. A few dozen homes sustained minor to major damage. The structural damage ranged from trees on homes, shingles peeled off some roofs, and partial to the entire roof blown off a few homes.
Thunderstorm winds, associated with the rear-flank downdraft of a tornadic supercell thunderstorm, produced widespread wind damage just to the south of a tornado track. This wind damage path was approximately 2 to 3 miles in width and 10 miles long. a few hundred trees were blown down in this area.
