Heavy rain produced flash flooding across Lee County. Several roads and bridges were flooded or washed out. Of these, six roads and one bridge sustained damage. One home sustained minor flood damage. One fatality occurred when a vehicle hydroplaned on Highway 45 between Eason Boulevard and Main Street exits in Tupelo as a result of the heavy rain and hit another vehicle.
Numerous rounds of showers and thunderstorms over a three hour period produced widespread flash flooding in the Guntown, Saltillo, and Baldwyn areas. Many streets in Guntown and Saltillo were flooded. In the Ivy Cove Subdivision on the north side of Saltillo, cars were floating down streets as water got high enough to get into homes. The intersection of Highway 370 and County Road 6381 near Baldwyn was flooded which caused vehicles to be washed off the roadway.
Very heavy rain produced flash flooding the the Tupelo area. In Verona two rescue events were reported involving stranded cars. Twelve to eighteen inches of water covered roads in the Palmetto area. Several houses were flooded in Tupleo.
