Straight line winds produced some minor roof damage to a home and knocked down some trees and power poles near the North Mississippi Medical Center, 1 to 2 miles south of Tupelo. The Tupelo campus of Itawamba Community College sustained roof and water damage to the GED building. In addition, more trees were knocked down 4 miles east of Tupelo.
Trees were knocked down across the Tupelo area. Trees fell on Simpson Drive and in the Palmetto Community south of the city. Shingles were blown off a house in the Palmetto Community as well. A power pole was knocked down on Daybright Drive.
Damaging straight line winds blew for 20-25 minutes across Lee County. The ASOS at the Tupelo airport measured a gust of 60 mph at 1046 am LST and then a 71 mph gust at 1108 am LST. Numerous trees were knocked down across the county. There was structural damage to the former Tupelo Automotive Museum and a local salon.
