Several trees were blown down around Port Gibson with a string of power lines taken down along Rodney Road from a downed tree. A couple units at the Magnolia Apartments were damaged by fallen trees. Numerous other trees were damaged outside of Port Gibson across the county. Off Greenwood Street, a shed was damaged with a portion of the tin roof thrown into some trees.
Hundreds of trees and numerous power lines were blown down across the entire southern portion of Claiborne County. Many roads were blocked and the power was out for 3 to 4 days. The worst and most concentrated damaged occurred across this area as an intense line of thunderstorms moved through and produced wind gusts between 70 and 85 mph.
Shortly after midnight on July 10th, an intense microburst occurred around Grand Gulf in Clairborne county. This swath of damage started at the MS River near the Military Park and pushed south southeast to southeast and moved over the Grand Gulf Nuclear facility. Damage from this microburst was primarily in the form of uprooted or broken trees. Several hundred trees were damaged. Additionally, several power lines and poles were taken down. There was one camper that had a large tree through it. Several roads were blocked or blocked in multiple locations in this area. Roads that were blocked included Grand Gulf Road, Back Grand Gulf Road, Frazier Road and Bald Hill Road. Damage was consistent with peak winds in the 70-85 mph range. The damage swath was almost 5 miles long and rough 3.5 miles wide.
