Several media outlets and local officials indicated that an individual died from a fallen tree north of Arlington near Highway 15. The individual was on a four-wheeler in the pasture of his farm and attempted to herd his cattle to safety during a storm. That���s when a tree fell on him, officials indicated.
A NWS Storm Survey indicated no area of concentrated damage in Arlington, Minnesota. There was damage to several dozen trees around town. In addition, a small portion of a roof was blown off in Arlington. Damage was not concentrated in any area, and was deemed most likely to have occurred from downburst winds.
The canvas cover of a large hoop barn that was home to 40 head of cattle was stripped off and ripped to pieces at a farm in Section 25 of Faxton Township. A soybean field and corn field on the property were heavily damaged by hail of unknown size.
