A swath of large hail fell across northern Elizabeth and Friberg townships and affected the Long Lake and Edwards areas. Considerable roof and vehicle damage was reported in these areas due to the large hail. Three to four inches of rain fell.
An unusual outbreak of severe weather, the latest on record, occurred across north central Minnesota. Intense low pressure tracking into Minnesota produced blizzard conditions over portions of South Dakota, while further east in Minnesota, unseasonably mild temperatures developed. Temperatures climbed near 70 with dew points in the 50s.
