What the reports say
Written by National Weather Service staff at the time of the event · public domain
Wind damage from a thunderstorm included a snowmobile trailer that was blown across a yard, a fence that was blown down, and siding that was blown off a house. Several other homes and garages contained in the same subdivision sustained minor structural damage. One 2 car unattached garage was completely demolished. The damage path was 4,000 feet long and 200 feet wide. 3 trees were blown over.
A National Weather Service storm survey team concluded that straight line winds around 65 mph lifted a corrugated roof nailed to a two by four wood frame over a double wide trailer near the intersection of 109th avenue and 37th street. Spotty tree damage was noted further east southeast across the remainder of Allegan county to near Doster.
A bow echo raced east across Allegan county during the late morning hours, bringing down numerous trees and power lines in areas including the city of Allegan and several miles south of Holland. Radar data suggests that downed trees were likely countywide.
