A swath of damaging outflow winds affected portions of West Carroll Parish from Kilbourne to Oak Grove. Numerous trees were blown down in the area. Power was out in Kilbourne, and a shed was destroyed at the intersection of Louisiana Highways 17 and 585.
Strong thunderstorms intensified during the early morning hours over north Louisiana and produced damaging wind gusts in several locations along with hail near one inch diamater. A wind gusts to 63 mph was recorded at a truck stop near Epps. The most significant damage occurred in West Carrol Parish where thunderstorm wind gusts damaged a house roof, a farm building and downed numerous trees. From newspaper accounts and spotter reports, the remainder of the wind damage was confined primarily to downed trees and power lines.
A home along LA Highway 585 north of Goodwill and west of Oak Grove lost half of its roof covering that faced the wind. Home security footage showed sudden loss of roof covering and partial damage to the roof decking on the downwind side with debris blown downwind toward the road.
