Straight line wind damage occurred from just north of the intersection of Big Pasture Road and Highway 384 to Donna Road in Big Lake. One metal roof was removed and numerous tree branches were broken along the path. Power lines were downed in the area and fences were also blown over. Additional wind damage occurred at Grand Lake High School to the east where fences around the baseball field were bent. Winds were estimated at 60 to 70 mph.
Cameron Parish Emergency Manager and Cameron Pilot newspaper reported a microburst caused significant damage on Channelview Road near Mutts Road in Hackberry. A vacant Hurricane Rita-damaged house and an outdoor shed were destroyed, and another shed was damaged. One house was blown off its blocks. Two houses suffered roof and siding damage.
NWS Storm Survey confirms microburst wind damage in subdivisions along and south of Cal Cam Line Road. Several metal storage buildings were blown over and destroyed. A metal carport was blown off a home with debris landing on a boat and in yard of residence. Numerous mobile homes had skirting ripped off. All damage was in a W to E direction with estimated winds around 70 mph.
