Excessive heavy rainfall developed during the evening of May 13th. This resulted in widespread flooding across the southern portion of Bossier Parish. Numerous roads were flooded and closed throughout the city. Some homes and businesses in the city were flooded as well with many vehicles stalled out in high water across the city. The estimated monetary amount due to the flooding across the parish is very preliminary at this time and the monetary amount will likely be much higher.
Numerous streets were flooded and closed due to high water. Numerous cars were stalled in high water on Benton Road near Old Minden Road where the water was as high as the door handles on the vehicles. Numerous cars were also stalled out on Shed Road at Doctor's Drive as well as another car stalled out on Shed Road near the railroad tracks.
Excessive heavy rainfall resulted in high water and a few road closures. These roads included Benton Road at Beckett Street, Benton at East Texas, Benton at Viking Drive, Hamilton Road at East Texas, Hamilton Road at Barksdale, Old Minden Road at Preston Blvd. and Shed Road. A woman had to be rescued from her vehicle at the corner of Benton Road and Beckett Street.
