A damage survey confirmed that a confined area of straight line winds caused scattered property and tree damage just south of Benton. A number of light poles and business signs were broken and bent as a result of the high winds. Benton Middle School received the greatest damage where the entire metal roof of one of its classroom wings was completely peeled back and removed.
Trees fell across portions of the Parish. The hardest hit areas were on near Haughton where 3 mobile homes in the Plaguemine Mobile Home Park were crushed by fallen trees. Winds also rolled 5 mobile homes at Cash Point Landing off State Highway 3.
A squall line with a bow echo thunderstorm moved across the south side of Bossier City. Several large trees were snapped or uprooted. Some of the trees fell on houses and cars. Numerous tree limbs were blown down. Several houses had shingles blown off and windows blown in. All trees and debris were blown from northwest to southeast. Length of damage was 2.25 miles with a width of 1 mile.
