A vehicle containing a deceased family of three was found submerged in Jellico Creek off Newman Campbell Rd. The family went missing late Thursday night and the vehicle was found early Saturday morning. It is likely based off evidence from the scene that the driver drove into swiftly flowing water at least 3 feet deep and was swept away. Time of the event is a general estimate.
The EOC and local fire dept reported that several roads in Corbin had water running across them; this included portions of Master St, the intersection of 5th and Steel Streets, and the underpass on Roy Kidd Ave between Main St and the post office.
Some street flooding was reported in Corbin, especially in poor drainage areas. The roads were impassable at the underpass at Roy Kidd and Depot, a section of Bacon Creek Road and a section of KY 312 on the east of the city. High water was also reported at Master St and Vaughn.
