Numerous trees down countywide. Road signs blown down. Roof blown off a trailer. Eight children in a shelter due to their home being uninhabitable. Unconfirmed report of 2 people trapped in their basement due to wind damage.
Numerous trees and large limbs were downed by thunderstorm wind gusts in Barbourville. Two large trees were felled near the intersection of North Main and School Streets. One of the trees fell onto a parked truck, causing substantial damage to the vehicle.
A daycare center operator near Siler reported that trees were blown down on Rocky Branch Road off Ohler Road. The day care center building was lifted off its foundation, resulting in damage to the building. One witness reported that they saw water lifted from a nearby pond. Other witnesses reported hearing a loud roar as the storm approached.
