Along the northern border of Graves County near Melber, golf ball sized hail was reported. The hail was mostly nickel to quarter sized, with golf ball hail mixed in. Multiple photos of the hail were posted on social media. The largest hailstones appeared to be a conglomeration of smaller stones.
A severe thunderstorm tracked from northwest to southeast across northern Graves County. A swath of large hail accompanied the storm into southern Marshall County. Golf ball size hail fell at the Kentucky State Police post near Hickory, just north of Mayfield. The storm produced a short-lived tornado in the Viola area.
