Winds estimated to at least 70 mph caused widespread damage across the county. A couple near Paxico was briefly trapped in their mobile home when it was detached from its cables and flipped over. The uninsured mobile home was destroyed. The couple was treated for minor injuries at a hospital. Other damage to trees, power lines and roofs was common. Many crops were severely damaged in the storm.
Large trees were blown down across portions of Wabaunsee County. North of Bushong, the Chalk COOP observer reported a large dome blown off of his silo, which was also caved in due to the wind. Large hay bales were blown off of a parked semi-truck, and additional power poles were snapped. The winds continued to Harveyville, where more power poles were blown down.
Delayed Report, time estimated from radar. Brief downburst from otherwise non-severe storms. Third of shop roof was blown off and over the house. The house's garage door was blown inward. A basketball goal with cement footing was blown over. Event was captured on doorbell camera.
