Golf ball sized hail reported at Prairie Dog State Park, which broke windows in 60 vehicles, caused serious damage to 40 campers, and damaged cabins at the park. Flooding was confined to roadside ditches according to park personnel. Newspaper accounts placed damage to vehicles and park facilities at one million dollars.
Corn stalks 3-4 feet tall now stubs after wind and hail storm. Nickel size hail found at 9:30 AM the next day. The hail swath between CR V and CR Q, and another between CR W6 and CR E2. Hail was a foot deep in the ditches.
