The White River in Greene County flooded for much of January. Crests were as high as 8.9 feet above flood stage. A man was killed near Worthington when he lost control of his car in high water and attempted to wade through the frigid water to safety.
The beginnings of a flood occurred along the White River in/near Elliston, Indiana. The river crested 0.3 feet above flood stage on May 10th at a reading of 18.3 feet. Flooding of this magnitude typically means the river approached River Road north of County Road 150 West, and some low lying agricultural land began to flood.
Rainfall and warm temperatures that occurred on and off during the second half of December led to flooding of low lying agricultural land on the White River during late December, affecting Greene County at and near Elliston.
