Numerous reports of quarter to golf ball size hail came in across Rockford. The hail broke the glass in an outside light fixture northwest of the I-39 and US 20 interchange. Golf ball size hail was reported on Wyoming Street in Rockford.
Numerous reports of large hail up to walnut size were received from the city of Rockford as a severe line of thunderstorms moved across the city. Some of the specific reports include: quarter size hail approximately four miles northwest of Rockford; quarter size hail at the intersection of Huffman Boulevard and Auburn street; penny to nickel size hail just east of downtown Rockford; quarter size hail at the intersection of Alpine Road and Harrison Avenue; half dollar size hail at the intersection of John Street and North Court Street.
Hail ranging from the size of pennies to golfballs was reported at several locations in the City of Rockford. Golfball size hail was reported at East State Street and Mulford Street. Quarter size hail was reported near Interstate 39 and the US 20 Bypass. Penny size hail was reported at Rockford Airport.
